Description

Students will design a six-sided stained glass lantern with stylized attached top, enclosed bottom, door, hinges and latch. At least two lanter patterns will be available to choose from. Students will learn how to cut glass, grind pieces and fit into a cartoon (pattern), foil glass, prepare the panels for soldering at various angles, create the stylized open top, solder the body, create functioning door hinges, and a functioning latch. 

Materials students must bring to class: safety glasses, close-toe shoes, and cut resistant gloves.
