Description
Come participate in the magic of weaving. This class is for students of all levels, whether you are a beginner, need a refresher, or have experience. Beginners will learn basic weaving techniques with detailed instruction so that they can prepare their loom, and weave and finish their project. More experienced students can use the time with support from the instructor to work on their own project based on their learning and project goals, ex. learning a new technique, a new structure, a new kind of project (such as towels, scarves, pillows), exploring textures or colors, or using design tools. During our breaks, we share what we have learned from our projects or other workshops or experiences. The instructor will also cover topics related to weaving. (All weaving classes are held on our second-floor weaving studio which is only accessible by stairs.)

Instructor Bio: 12 years ago, a friend gave me his floor loom and I became hooked on weaving immediately. I am a past Program Chair of the Handweavers’ Guild of Connecticut and have completed multiple classes including Explorations in Advanced Weaving. I have led weaving workshops for kids and for learning a computer-based design tool. I enjoy seeing students realize their own artistic goals and learn new techniques. I also like to explore new structures and color combinations.
