Adult Catalog Winter 2022: Weaving
The beginner is introduced to all steps of weaving including winding a warp, threading a loom, reading a draft, and weaving a variety of patterns. Finishing techniques will also be covered. The Intermediate student receives individualized instruction and is encouraged to explore the diversity of the craft. Additional studio hours called bench time, are offered at no extra charge. Materials are extra.
All weaving classes are held on our second floor weaving studio which is only accessible by stairs.
Bench times: Weaving bench times will now be offered directly after your class as well as the day before your class. This new schedule is an effort to give weavers more time to work on their projects as well as to limit the number of opportunities students would be exposed to other students from multiple different classes. Thank you for your understanding.
Due to precautions against Covid-19, some of our studio procedures have changed. We would like to provide a safe and clean environment to all of our staff, instructors, members, and students. Please take note of the following:
Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination will be required for class registration for the Winter session and all sessions going forward.
Face masks are required for ALL individuals while inside the Wesleyan Potters facility. Face masks must cover the nose, mouth, and chin.
Wash hands upon entering the building.
No eating in the studio. Coffee machine is off limits. Please eat outside if necessary.
An email providing more information regarding our cleaning procedures will be sent out before the start of class.
